ACESIL SB

SILANE-SILOXANE SOLVENT BASED WATER REPELLANT SEALER

ACESIL SB is a one part silane-siloxane solvent based surface sealer. It is highly water repellent used as colorless protective surface treatment on absorbent exposed cement and mineral based substrates. It penetrates well into the open pores of the substrate, providing durable water repellency into cementitious pores (5-200nm). It allows water vapor diffusion in both directions and is suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

• Application surface must have a sharp downstream slope.
• Hydrophobic primer under solvent based protective coating
• High absorbent surfaces such as concrete, exposed brick, roof tiles
• Mineral based painted surfaces
• Mineral based natural and artificial stones
• For restoration of monuments, statues etc.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The application surface must be clean and dry and free from grease, rust, dirt, mold, etc. The surface to be treated must be inclined downstream. All surface cracks should be filled up with a paste of Cement and ACEGUARD BA mixed in ratio of 2:1 and applied using a trowel to seal the gaps. Best results are obtained on dry, very absorbent substrates. The substrate must look dry with no damp patches.

APPLICATION

ACESIL SB is supplied ready for use and should not be thinned. It is applied by using brush, roller or low pressure spray gun working from bottom up taking care not to let the product run. It must be applied with saturation technique, coat after coat, without waiting for the former coat to dry up. At least two coats are required for best results. Topcoats must be applied after 24 hours drying.

ACESIL SB is not intended for waterproofing under hydrostatic pressure, in permanent contact with water, or for below ground waterproofing. It is not intended to seal visible cracks from moisture ingress. Building components not to be coated (example aluminum frames, windows etc.) need to be protected from contact with ACESIL SB. In case of splashes, clean immediately using an additional solvent if necessary.
